Singer Jerry Corbetta, R.I.P.

Postby StevenHW » Tue Sep 20, 2016 3:21 pm

The singer of the 70's rock group Sugarloaf, has passed away in Denver, CO on September 16, 2016 at age 68 of Pick's Disease, which slowly destroys the nerve cells in the brain similarly to Alzheimer’s Disease. The condition forced Corbetta into retirement when he was diagnosed in 2009.

Sugarloaf's well-known hits in the 70's were "Green-Eyed Lady" and "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You".

Wow, I never even heard of that disease.

I recently read some research suggesting that the plaques in the brain that cause Alzheimers may actually form as a defense to invading germs or viruses. So they protect your brain now, kill you later. Some trade-off. :-(

You find out what someone is really like in "battle," and Olbermann is who you want to be in a foxhole with, Patrick said. "On the air, we had each others' backs," said Olbermann.
