Re: For any fellow UK members of this forum.

That's if a lot of Lib Dem voters forgive him for what he has done today. I wont. A fair point but in his defense, he's put his party closer to power than they have been in decades, and at the end of the day....it's really about controlling the government. If he just gets PR passed, a lot of his su...

Re: For any fellow UK members of this forum.

If I were Clegg, I'd hold out for the PR vote and perhaps a cabinet post or two.. Damn, who knew that Clegg read this board. I've heard in addition to the PR referendum, he may get Deputy PM. Not bad for a guy with 59 votes. Of course if PR ever passes, he's looking to double his party's rep...

Re: For any fellow UK members of this forum.

Cameron is PM. I hope our dear American left-leaning cousins will say a prayer for us today.
We'll need all the help we can get with that lot in power! ](*,)

Re: For any fellow UK members of this forum.

I think Mr Clegg knows how people who voted for him feel about a deal with the Tories. It would have to be water tight. Here he is taking to protesters who handed him a petition supporting electoral reform. Let's see-- I think Clegg sold you out. #-o Well the whippersnapper better hadn't or I wont ...

Re: For any fellow UK members of this forum.

Currently the Conservatives have about 60% more votes than the Liberal Democrats, but they have 460% more seats. And 25% more votes for Labour gives 360% more seats than the Liberal Democrats. That's ludicrous. It's disgrace. That is one of the reasons I wanted the Lib Dems to do as well as possibl...

Re: For any fellow UK members of this forum.

Airliebird, could you please tell me, how often can Brits call for a new election? -Marie- Each government has a 5 year term, but the PM can call for a new Election when he likes really, if he thinks he can win it! Opposition parties can force an Election too if a 'no confidence' vote is passed in ...

Re: For any fellow UK members of this forum.

I think you might be pleasantly surprised Michael. When the Lib Dems started to rise in the polls after Nick Clegg did so well in the 1st leaders debate, the Murdoch press hammered him so relentlessly it became a bit of a joke. I remember my Hubby and I watching a press preview on the news one night...

Re: The NOW PLAYING Thread

This is a fan video made by a fellow fan of the rugby club I support Hull FC, but the song is really fab. One of those tunes that really picks you up. I did a search and the singer's name is Simon Webbe, a former member of a UK boyband called Blue.
